Dear Pastor, don’t recruit new converts as leaders of your church without taking them through the necessary training of the vision.

We mistakenly make new convert leaders of the church we are pastoring and later these key people turn to betray us at the end because they never got the right picture and concept of the vision. The first thing you need is a believing and willing team. Looking unto Jesus, we see that He began His ministry by putting a team together. It didn’t end there. He intentionally taught and programmed them for a purpose. Even after teaching and programming them for 3 and half years, Satan still took away Judas and almost influenced Peter, but for mercy.

This means that team building is done intentionally and forcefully.Remember a new convert must first of all;

* Be rooted in Christ Jesus Col. 2:6-8

* Understand what it means to stand against affliction times as a believer as Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 8.18 – For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

* Train them to be good followers of Jesus and you as the earthly head of the vision. Heb.6.12 – That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.The Apostles of Jesus didn’t just stand up one day and became Apostles, they went through stages. At a point they were followers. In Matt.4.19 – And he saith unto them, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.After a while when the multitude left him after saying to them they shall partake in His body and blood, He then chose the 12 as disciples in accordance with what He saw in them. Luke 6.12 – And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.Luke.6.13 – And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles;

Dear Pastor, avoid appointing individuals who do not believe in your vision as leaders. The vision might be demanding because of its beginning but allow the vision and the people to go through the test of time (faithfulness) before making them leaders and Pastors.
